FAQ

Now some of you may be asking…

How much do you cost and why don't I see your pricing on your website?

We have different programs for different situations and we can't help everyone. We need to assess whether or not you are a suitable candidate for our process before we can determine any pricing. This is why there is no fee for scheduling and attending our Enrollment Pathway Session. Click the button below to get on our calendar. From what we can tell, our pricing tends to be equal or less that what other counselors and planners in our industry typically charge for their version of college planning.

Am I too early to start? I have a high school freshman.

It’s never too early to start. Like anything else, you earlier you plan, the better the result. Click the button below to schedule your free Enrollment Pathway Session to see exactly where you need to start!

Am I too late? I have a high school senior.

If your student is still within the first few months of their senior year, it might not be…but we have a lot of work to do in a short period of time. We also have some serious questions for you and your student. Your student might want to take a gap year or partial gap year if they are just weeks from graduating high school. Would you delay enrollment if you could get 4 years of college for the price of 2 or less? Click the button below to schedule your free Enrollment Pathway Session to see what needs to happen.

I already have a college counselor at the private school I am sending my student to. Do I still need this service?

Like we said, we’re different. Many of our clients already have private counselors or college planners already in play. There is a good chance that many of the concepts presented in our Process and Thesis go beyond the scope of many typical school and college counselors. Click the button below to schedule you Enrollment Pathway Session and see for yourself.

I see you are based in Atlanta. I am all the way in California. Can you still help me?

We have clients all over the country in all time zones. Where you live makes no difference to us. We can still help as long as you and your student are willing to put in the work and you have an internet connection. If you are reading this, we bet you have a great internet connection. So click the button below to schedule your free Enrollment Pathway Session.

I probably make too much money to get financial aid but can you still help?

This myth is very persistent because as a society, we have an imperfect understanding of how colleges and how financial aid really works. We’ve heard other counselors in our industry say this too. Income does not have to be a barrier to financial aid. Click the button below and we’ll find out together where we can review the financial portion of your college planning strategy.

How do I know this is not a scam? I saw the Netflix Documentary about Operation Varsity Blues.

The college planner featured in the documentary was asking for bribes in the hundreds of thousands of dollars to help students get into elite colleges. We don’t do that here at Game Theory. If I ever ask you for a donation that big feel free to call the authorities. Better yet, click the button below, schedule your free Enrollment Pathway Session, and see first-hand how legit our operation really is.

I’ve never heard of Game Theory College Planners. How do I know you are legit?

Just do a simple Google search and you’ll know everything there is to know. We have a lot of raving fans. We also create a lot of useful content on social media and have been featured in several major media outlets. Colleges tell us all the time that we don’t need to pay anyone to do this for us. All of this information is free on the internet.

You certainly have the option to trust everything the college is telling you. Just keep in mind that there's a chance that a college's interests may not necessarily align with your interests. Our job is to help you, not the college. There is a natural conflict between a family and the college. The college is looking to obtain your student at the lowest price possible (or at no cost at all for families unfortunate enough to pay full price). You are at the other end of this equation looking to get your student into the best possible college at the lowest possible price. That is where we come in.

I already have a college planner doing this for me.

We hear this a lot. Whatever they are doing, I am sure they are doing the best they can. They just aren’t doing what we could be doing for you. Just ask the dozens of clients who hired us last year that already had some type of consultant or advisor already working on their college plan. If you already had everything you needed, there is a good chance that you would not have made it this far. Let's schedule your free Enrollment Pathway Session to see where we can help.

Why can’t you help us get into Harvard?

Outside of shady backroom deals and substantial "donations," no one can help you get into Harvard. That’s the truth and if anyone is selling it, we wouldn’t buy it. Can we validate if Harvard is a good academic fit for your student? Yes we can. Can we potentially introduce Harvard as an option if it was not originally on your radar? Yes. Can we predict the financial award from a college like Harvard. Absolutely.

Predicting admission into an Ivy league or any other college with a single digit acceptance rate is a roll of the dice. No one can do it consistently. Colleges like Harvard operate on a different set of principals. We focus on the admissions and financial aid methodologies of the other 99.99% of colleges that are out there.
